Are you a  HEALTH MINDED, FUN LOVING, TEAM ORIENTED FITNESS LOVING, BUSY WORKING MOM looking for a HOPEFUL change of pace?

It was 2011 and I had just finished Grad. School. I was a NURSE PRACTITIONER. I honestly couldn’t believe it. I had to go through many obstacles to get to this point and I deep down, I honestly didn’t feel I was smart enough, capable of doing it. I mean don’t get me wrong, I was set out to prove I was, but my inner fear and lack of confidence was defiantly a daily battle.

Why an NP– I worked and went to school, for my future family.  There were 2 reasons why I wanted to go back to school to be a Nurse Practitioner. 1 was a bedside nurse in a Large Children’s Hospital in Dallas, I became very burned out on the monotony of running from room to room and felling like I really didn’t accomplish much all day. I had the desire to make more of a difference. And #2, lets face it, I wanted to make more money and work less.

I believed that if I went back to school to become a Nurse Practitioner, I would make enough money to live comfortably and possibly get to work a little less to spend time with my future kids more. The joke was always, my husband would be a stay at home dad too.

Post Graduation– So immediately after graduating, we were able to start putting money back, getting our finances in order, paying off debt and I was able to spend a little more freely on ME. Although I have always been active, an athelte and a hard worker. I had never felt that my efforts payed off. When I looked in the mirror I never felt like I looked like I should. I didn’t look fit. So I hired a personal trainer. I just knew that he would have the magic I needed to get my 10 lbs off and help me looked ripped.

Hitting my wellness ROCK Bottom– Well although I love my trainer, NOTHING worked. Seriously, nothing. I was doing elite training, things he was bring out of his “great book” never used be routines and nothing was working. And to top it off, during my time with the trainer, I had my yearly GYN visit with a lipid panel drawn and was found to have high cholesterol. The medical assistant who called, had the nerve to leave me a message that stated, oh these numbers can be fixed with some exercise and diet modifications. Little did she know, I was 3 months and THOUSANDS of dollars into Olympic training and no change. Towards the end of the 3 months without change, me crying during our sessions and truly doing more harm than good, it was suggested I go see a MD and take a break for a while.

So as stubborn as I am and of course being an NP didn’t want someone else to tell me what I was doing wrong, I went kicking and screaming. But I went. I actually went to see a friend who recently told me about a complete lipid, metabolic panel that actually evaluated for some genetic components as well. I was stoked because maybe there was something truly wrong with me.

The ULTIMATE Scare– After getting the results, my entire lipid panel was out of wack, my inflammatory markers were elevated to a concerning level and it was suggested I make some immediate changes. Of course very upset as I had just went through rigourous training, what else could I do. It was advised that I get on medication and start having follow up. It was suggested that could try OTC medication to lower my cholesterol, but that it likely wouldn’t work. I was actually told genetically, nothing would work.

So me being me again, refused that as an answer and decided I would get in contact with a nutritionist and make sure there was nothing I could do.

After meeting with her, it was identified that genetically, I am at high risk for insulin resistance. Therefore, I am very sensitive to sugar. Sugar in everything. Im not just talking about cookies, cake, ice cream, I am talking about fruit, carbohydrates, artificial sweeteners…. they were KILLING ME!

My 1 year (post baby #2) transformation

My LIFE SAVING package– So along with some modifications in my diet, I was introduced to Shakeology and an Accountability group.
I didn’t think anything would work! Seriously I was a skeptic.

2 months after starting Shakeology, doing Insanity with a group of friends, I lost the 10 lbs, I was seriously IN THE BEST SHAPE OF MY LIFE , mentally and physically, and my cholesterol was unremarkable.

So of course I am SOLD on this progress, because it was natural and it worked.

Boy MOMFamily First- Fast forward 2 years later, having 2 babies under 2, fighting the fear of my body being damaged, but also locking arms with THE FIT TEAM, my support system. I minimized my gain, have gotten my body back 2 times in less than 3 years.

WHY…… Support, accountability, nutrition, home fitness.

Corporate or BUST…..I was not only sold on the process and its effectiveness, but I was also beginning to feel the weight of a working mom. Being gone, being exhausted when I was home, living in the corporate drama that was ripping the JOY I once had away! I knew that my purpose what NOT to be taken advantage of, disrespected and unappreciated. I KNEW that there was more and this MORE could benefit me and my family.

What I see DAILY as a COACH– I was seeing amazing things happen in the lives of others through my coaching business. I see weight loss breakthroughs, I see strength some when there was none, I see happiness that was hiding, I see empowerment to get the entire family healthy, I see a team working together to accomplish bounds, I see financial freedom, I see. And what was even more beautiful, I was seeing the BIG picture!

I am now more active as a COACH than ever because I am getting the amazing privileged of helping others SEE what I see and change their health and change their wealth.
